Players of "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" may have to wait a little longer for one of the biggest updates of the game as the developer is slightly behind the schedule. The upcoming patch update is meant to resolve the persistent bugs and issues in the multiplayer mode of the game.

Game developer 343 Industries posted in a new blog explaining that it needs more time to check the stability of the update before it rolls out to the public. The developer added that the update needs to undergo further testing. The upcoming patch update is one of the largest updates of the game and it entails a long list of fixes.

Part of the post reads, "As this update contains the biggest changes to the Matchmaking system yet, we've identified that additional time and testing is required, and we are currently evaluating both timing and need for a CU beta with the Xbox One Preview program, as well as the final public release date in February."

343 Industries also announced in its post that it is rethinking about rolling out a beta version of the content updates and is mulling whether there is a need for it.

The developer has rolled out a number of patch updates to address the bugs that plagued the title since its launch. 343 Industries released a content update last week that delivers improvements and tweaks to the user interface of the game, as well as a more stable performance and multiplayer fixes. The 1.19.15 content update allegedly resolves the ongoing matchmaking issues that have been haunting the game since November.

"Halo: The Master Chief Collection" was highly anticipated as it is the collection of the first four games. However, a lot of players complained about a myriad of issues and 343 Industries has been preoccupied with releasing a number of updates to resolve these.

Meanwhile, the people behind the game may face serious trouble releasing the upcoming "Halo: Guardians" as some gamers expressed their frustration in the delay of a concrete update that will resolve all the remaining bugs and issues in "The Master Chief Collection." The absence of this particular update prompted some gamers to say that they will boycott the upcoming game if a potent content update will not be released.
