Critically acclaimed British actress Helen Mirren made an appearance at the "Late Late Show" last Tuesday, Jan. 30, and participated in a rap battle against host James Corden. After a series of insults and quips, Mirren showed her versatility and talent throughout that battle, and the audience hailed the actress as the winner of the heated but friendly match.

In the clip of the show's segment, it can be seen that the rap stage was designed in such a way that Mirren and Corden are completely surrounded by the live studio audience. As Mirren walked toward the platform, she was already wearing a crown and told Corden to bow before her.

It was apparent that both Corden and Mirren came fully prepared with their insults. As the late-night show's host, Corden had the honors of starting the battle, wherein he alluded to Mirren's relationship with Irish actor Liam Neeson. Corden stated that "You dated Liam Neeson back in 1982. He left you real quick; he wasn't 'taken' with you," to which the audience responded with the appropriate "oohs" and "aahh" for the scorching remark.

However, Mirren was ready with her retort by stating "He's obsessed with my exes. Sorry, James, I'm not single. But you know I taught your little mister to tingle." As Mirren said the phrase, she made a gesture with her hand emphasizing her pinky finger. On top of that, she also suggested that Corden's bits are derivative, claiming that the rap battle is a unique one that the host "didn't find in Jimmy Fallon's trash."

It is widely known that Mirren is considered as one of the United Kingdom's national treasures, given that she has excelled in many aspects of the entertainment industry. And although the 72-year-old actress is known for her acting chops, she has proven in the past that she could also model, and apparently, she can also come up with rhymes off the top of her head.
