Reality TV star Honey Boo Boo has to say bye-bye to the cameras really soon.
On Oct. 24, Honey Boo Boo's mother June Shannon, also known as Mama June, posted on her Facebook page that TLC decided to pull the plug on the hit reality series that follows the life of the nine-year-old former child beauty pageant contestant from Georgia.
TLC released a statement about the cancellation, saying that the network decided to cancel the series immediately as well as all activities around it. The network also vowed that they will continue looking after the welfare and well-being of the children.
"Just got a phone call this morning from TLC and as of right now there will be no more production of the show... the statement of me dating a sex offender is totally untrue. Pumpkin has openly said that I did not—that I'm not dating him and also his son," Mama June wrote. "I would not ever, ever, ever put my kids in danger. I love my kids too much. That is my past. I have not seen that person in 10 years and don't seem to want to see that person."
The said sex offender is Mama June's former boyfriend, Mark McDaniel, who was convicted to 10 years in jail because of molesting an eight-year-old girl.
Despite Mama June's repeated denial, TMZ reported that her own daughter Anna Cardwell — known as Chickadee in the show — believes that she really is dating McDaniel.
But the more shocking angle to this story that fans of the show were not expecting is, the eight-year-old girl that McDaniel molested is reportedly Chickadee herself.
According to the website, Anna reportedly wanted the world to know that she was McDaniel's victim. She is also upset because her mom broke her promise by dating him again.
Anna is now 20-years-old, married and has a daughter of her own.
"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," a spin-off of another TLC reality show, "Toddlers & Tiaras," features the everyday life of Alana Thompson, more popularly known as Honey Boo Boo, along with Mama June and the rest of their family.
