How to watch Billy Graham's funeral live

Billy Graham's funeral takes place on Friday, March 2, after the great evangelist died aged 99 last week.

The private service will be held in a 'canvas cathedral' style tent outside the Billy Graham Library in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, His son, Franklin Graham, will give the address and US President Donald Trump is expected to attend.

Billy Graham is only the fourth private citizen to receive the honour of lying at the Capitol, the first since Rosa Parks did so in 2005. Twitter

Other living former presidents were invited but so far George Bush, Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama have apologised and said they are unable to attend.

The private service will start at midday local time (1700 GMT) and will be live streamed all around the world. You can watch the live stream here.

There will also be several communal locations around the UK where Christians and supporters of Billy Graham can gather to watch the service. To find your nearest location a full list of live viewing locations is below.

'Throughout his ministry, Billy Graham was a pioneer in the use of technology to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ by every effective means available,' a statement from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association UK said.

'Billy Graham's one purpose in life was to help people find a relationship with God that comes only through knowing Christ, and his desire would be the same in his passing. Please join us as we honour his life and ministry and proclaim the same Gospel he shared for nearly 80 years.'

It comes after Trump praised Graham for his 'extraordinary life' at a memorial service in the US Capitol Rotunda where the preacher became the fourth private citizen to be honoured by lying in ceremony there and the first since Rosa Parks.

'Everywhere he went, Reverend Graham delivered the same beautiful message: God loves you. That was his message. God loves you,' said Trump.

'We can only imagine the number of lives touched by the preaching and the prayers of Billy Graham –- the hearts he changed, the sorrows he eased, and the joy he brought to so many. The testimony is endless.'
