HTC One M7 price at Best Buy for $149.99 off-contract

Best Buy offers a sweet deal to consumers who want to get the HTC One (M7). It is now available for purchase for only $149.99 without a contract. Although the handset is almost two years old, its specs and features are still commendable to this date.

Best Buy is offering the blue variant of the handset. Although it is off-contract, it is locked under AT&T or Verizon. The Sprint version is available for $199.99 without contract.Other color options are also available through the retailer for the same price.

It is still a great deal although the HTC One M7 is no longer the flagship smartphone. The handset debuted in 2013 and received a lot of praises for its superior design and top specs and features.

The HTC One M7 sports a 4.7-inch screen display with full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, the handset is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz paired with 2 GB of RAM. The internal storage is up to 32 GB. At the back, it has a 4-megapixel UltraPixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) feature. It supports 4G LTE connectivity and HTC BoomSound.

Meanwhile, HTC started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update to the One M7. While the Sprint and Google Play Edition of the handset have received the update earlier, the company is now seeding the update to the Unlocked or Developer Edition M7 of the smartphone. The news was later confirmed by HTC's Mo Versi.

"HTC One (M7) Unlocked and Dev owners! Enjoy the Lollipop update! OTA has been released. #HTCAdvantage," his Twitter post reads.

The latest OS update will bring forth an overall new user interface dubbed as Material Design. Moreover, improvements will be seen in the performance, notifications, and security of the handset.

The emergence of the discounted price of the handset is a clear indication that the company is releasing a new smartphone very soon.
