HTC One M9 Hima: Powerful specs confirmed as device spotted in AnTuTu

HTC's alleged flagship smartphone, dubbed as Hima, was spotted in AnTuTu benchmark, further hinting its imminent release and confirming some of the rumored specs and features packed inside. The smartphone was listed in the benchmark site as "HTC653LVW (hima)."

According to the listing, the smartphone will come with a 5-inch screen display with 1080p Full HD resolution, which debunks earlier speculations that the device will feature a 5.5-inch screen. The handset will be powered by Qualcomm's forthcoming Snapdragon 810 octa-core chip with 64-bit architecture clocked at 2 GHz. The processor will be aided by an Adreno 420 GPU and 3 GB of RAM.

The smartphone will also be shipped with Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box customized with HTC Sense 7 UI. At the back, the handset will sport a 20.7-megapixel camera and 13-megapixel front-facing camera or an Ultrapixel shooter.

These are the same features leaked by the reliable and credible HTC tipster @upleaks. The tipster gained credibility for HTC-related rumors. The Hima, or HTC One M9, will reportedly be released alongside two other mid-range smartphones, Hima Ace and its Chinese variant Hima Ultra. The Ace variant is rumored to sport a plastic body making it a cheaper version of the flagship smartphone. While HTC One M9 will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm, the other handsets will be powered by MediaTek processors.

It is still unknown whether the Taiwanese manufacturer will drop the name "HTC One (M9)" and go with just "Hima." It is speculated that HTC will drop the M line to be replaced by a new series of smartphones. It is speculated that the three smartphones will be launched at the HTC press event pegged in March 2015.

It seems that HTC is preparing for the release of the HTC One M9 as deals and discounts for HTC One M8 already emerge, bringing down the price of the handset. HTC is trying to maximize the profits while exhausting the remaining stocks of One M8.

However, HTC has announced nothing official yet.
