HTC continues to hype up the announcement of its newest device, the HTC U 11, expected to be unveiled on May 16.

On its official Twitter account, the Taiwanese company posted a 30-second clip to tease fans about the upcoming device. The preview shows several items being squeezed, including a lemon, a teddy bear, a bread, and a sponge to name just a few. Toward the end of the teaser, it simply said "squeeze the brilliant U."

The same social media page also promises a new smartphone that is "natural, intuitive, and effortless." HTC believes that its upcoming device will give users a new way of interacting with the handset. Fans who commented on the Twitter post were generally excited with the launch of the HTC U 11. On the other hand, the rest also took the opportunity to suggest other upgrades or ask questions.

This is not the first time that HTC teased about the upcoming device. Earlier last week, the company also posted a five-second clip showing someone squeezing the sides of the device.

The main and perhaps the most unique feature of the HTC U 11 is the Edge Sensors. The frame-embedded sensors will enable the user to do several customizable actions, such as swiping left and right or changing the volume while watching a video by squeezing the device.

As for other specifications, the HTC U 11 is anticipated to come with a 5.5-inch screen with quad high-definition (QHD) display. It will most likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, along with possible options of 4 GB and 6 GB for its RAM. For its internal storage, 64 GB and 128 GB options are available, which can be further expanded through a microSD.

The HTC U 11 is expected to come as a premium phone. The numerical component of the HTC U 11 implies that it is a successor of the HTC 10, while the alphabet "U" means that the handset belongs to the same family of device launched earlier this year — the HTC U Ultra and the HTC U Play.
