Get ready for an artificial intelligence-centric smartphone from Huawei — the recently launched Mate 10 Pro. The phone company is trying to be a trailblazer by having their smartphone be powered by a new processor that has an AI core and a neural processing unit (NPU).

The new unit from Huawei will be running on the new Kirin 970 chipset with either 4 GB or 6 GB of random-access memory (RAM) and storage options going from 64 GB to 128 GB. The handset also boasts a level of durability being IP67 water and dust-resistant.

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro will be on trend with slimmer bezels. Calling it FullView display, the new smartphones will have narrower bezels. Both the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro sport the ultra-thin bezels and just the top and bottom bars as observed by Android Authority.

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro sports a 6-inch Full HD active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display with support for high-dynamic range (HDR) 10. Media content streaming like YouTube or Netflix will be able to use all the full colors that the OLED display offers. The fingerprint sensor is on the rearmost, under the vertically arranged dual cameras.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro's camera will be its other selling point with 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel sensors at the back and an 8-megapixel shooter at the front. The benchmark group DxO measured the device's dual-camera setup and has given it a high score of 97.

According to GSM Arena, that's just one point lower than the Google Pixel 2's score of 98. The Mate 10 Pro's camera beats Apple's iPhone 8 Plus with the latter scoring a 94. The reason for this is that the Huawei Mate 10 Pro got a 100 for photo performance, with DxO giving the smartphone high marks for having minimal noise and displaying great detail in its pictures.

As for the video aspect, the Mate 10 Pro scored a 91. The unit got high marks for contrast and accuracy of color as well as a fast and accurate autofocus.

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro will arrive in November and will retail for about $940.
