Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed have been married for nine months but the two appear to be more in love than ever as the "Vampire Diaries" actor would often post loving messages to his wife on social media.

To celebrate nine months of marriage, the 37-year-old shared a never-before-seen photo of the couple on their wedding day, which shows the two celebrating their nuptials as they each held a glass of punch. The "Twilight" actress looked elegant in a lace Claire Pettibone gown, while the actor looked dapper in a white bespoke suit by Nedo Bellucci.

Somerhalder captioned the shot, "9 months of amazing marriage to this amazing human. Happy 9 months to my one and only human—I can't wait for the rest. So many many many more to come and fill with memories. I love you."

Last month, Reed wished her husband a happy birthday on the photo sharing app with a post saying that she would love to spend the "next 65 years together" with Somerhalder.

Speaking with People magazine, Somerhalder said that he is happy "every single day" that he wakes up as he gets to be with his wife each day.

"Every single day. Look who I get to wake up with," said the actor. "We're under kitties and dogs, and it's just pure bliss."

The couple is known to be animal rights advocates and would often use their social media pages to raise awareness of animal adoption.

The couple tied the knot on April 26 at a secret ceremony in Topanga Canyon. According to Brides.com, guests thought that they were going to a housewarming party for the two, but then they were taken to the site in Malibu to see Reed and Somerhalder exchange vows.

Somerhalder previously revealed that he is looking forward to having children in the future, telling Entertainment Tonight, "It's a pretty crazy time and place to bring a child into this turbulent and insane world—but I really can't wait to do it."
