Cupertino tech giant Apple has kept news about the iPad Air 3's release tightly under wraps, leaving fans to speculate and hope that the highly anticipated Apple tablet will be unveiled at the upcoming Apple event this October.

The Apple iPad Air 3 is speculated to be announced at Apple's Oct. 27 event because of observable trends in Apple's iPad Air launching schedule. Previous versions of Apple's iPad Air lineup were always announced in the month of October. The iPad Air, iPad Air 2, and the iPad Mini 3 were released on Oct. 22, 2013, Oct. 16, 2014, and Oct. 22, 2014, respectively, which adds to the suspicion of an Oct. 27 announcement for the Apple iPad Air 3.

Another thing that adds to the suspicion that the Apple iPad Air 3 wil be coming to markets soon is the fact that Apple iPad retailers are selling the 128 GB iPad Air 2 with discounts that amount up to $250 USD.

On another note, the Apple iPad Air 3 is speculated to come to the market with a sleeker and thinner design than its predecessors. Because of its rumored thinner design, the Apple tablet is speculated to come in a 7000-series aluminum body. The Apple tablet is also rumored to come in several colors including space grey, rose gold, silver, and gold.

The new Apple iPad Air 3 is said to sport a 9.7-inch screen with a 3112 x 2334 resolution at 401 ppi. The new Apple tablet is also said to contain more RAM as opposed to its predecessors. And will be powered by an A10 or A10X processor chip. Additionally, much like the iPhone 7, the new Apple iPad Air 3 will ditch the 3.5 mm analog headphone jack.

Other rumored features of the iPad Air 3 include an Apple Pencil feature, a Smart Keyboard cover, a 12-megapixel camera equipped with true tone flash, and 3D touch support.
