Cupertino tech giant Apple is speculated to be working on the iPad Mini 5, and since its predecessor was released over a year ago, Apple fans are expecting plenty of new features and specs for the upcoming tablet.

According to recent speculations spreading online, the iPad Mini 5 will be significantly thinner that its predecessors. The upcoming Apple iPad Mini 5 is said to come with the same 7000-series aluminum chassis that was used in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

The device is also speculated to come with a 3D Touch feature along with a smart connector that will allow its users to attach a keyboard to the device, making it a perfect tool for the workplace.

Furthermore, the iPad Mini 5 is expected come out of the box running on iOS 11 and sporting an 8-megapixel rear camera coupled with a 1.2-megapixel front facing camera for selfies. Other rumored specs and features of the iPad Mini 5 suggests that the Apple tablet will be dust-resistant as well as waterproof.

The iPad Mini 5 will also be more powerful than its predecessors since it is said to have an enhanced A9 processor that will ensure a higher quality of graphics and enhanced processing speeds.

The device might also follow recent Apple device trends such as the iPhone 7's exclusion of the 3.5mm analog headphone jack. The iPad Mini 5 may also ditch the 16 GB variant and may start with a base model with a 32 GB internal memory.

As of now, there is still no official news from Apple as to when the iPad Mini 5 will be released, but speculations suggest that the device will be available in the market some time in 2017, most probably between the month of April and August, with a price tag ranging from $550 USD up to $950 USD.
