iPhone 7 device issues, texting bug updates: new 2016 iPhone 7 bug gets a fix

Will the next iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus feature OLED screens from Sharp Corporation? apple.com

A lot of people are upset since they started experiencing unexpected signal drops as well as inexplicable issues with their GPS while using either the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus with the Verizon Network. In response, Apple has released an iOS update once again — the 10.0.3 — which focuses only on fixing the said issues. As such, those with older iPhones will not see the update pop show up in their notifications.

According to the Verge, the source of the issue was uncertain, but a lot of iPhone 7 owners have begun airing their complaints last month and well into this month because their devices are dropping its LTE signals at random times or showing the "No Service" icon when device owners are trying to use Google Maps or Waze.

The issue was one that specifically plagued Verizon subscribers, and as such it was theorized that it was the network's fault all along. As such, toggling the "Enable LTE" function and changing it to "Data Only" seemed to fix the issue temporarily.

Another possible reason behind the issue is the fact that there is a fundamental flaw in the iPhone when it comes to dealing with any CDMA-based network while using the iOS 10. Basically, the CDMA-based networks includes US Cellular, Verizon, Sprint, and a large number of other international carriers. The reason behind the theory is that some other network subscribers reported the same problem, so the issue could have extended from the Verizon customer base.

Regardless, iKream seems to have discovered some steps to fixing iPhone 7 devices that could not send or receive messages. The fix involves rebooting the phone, disabling and enabling the iMessage app, hard rebooting, and even turning off the LTE. If this workaround still fails, the user can reset the network settings on their iPhone 7, but this is only meant as a last resort.
