Nets point guard Jeremy Lin optimistic about next season

The 28-year-old point guard returned to the court on March 1, after recovering from a hamstring injury that caused him to skip 45 games. "Honestly, what I remember about the season is March on," Lin told the press on Thursday, when they culminated their season with stats 20–62.

With Lin's appearance on the March 1 game, the team was able to break loose from a 16-game losing streak.

According to Lin, initially they were still trying to figure out their identity as a team, but eventually, they managed to do so. That is what they were able accomplish this season, despite the trouble getting there.

Like Lin, Brook Lopez believes that the season was "transformative." Toward the end of the season, both players managed to evolve and improve.

Lin, who missed a lot of games this season, will reportedly be replaced by a more experienced point guard. The team has yet to release an official statement on the said rumors. Nevertheless, Lin believes the team is putting their fate on him, and that he is more than willing to deliver what they want.

At a press conference in New York, Lin was asked about the possibility of being a free agent. He replied with, "I honestly don't think it's going to be that hard of a sell. First of all, it's Brooklyn, it's New York."

He continued, "Second of all, everyone can tell this culture is completely different. There's a freshness, a different vibe. I think what we did after the All-Star Break will help, but also, players just want to be treated the right way and I know there's definitely a lot of interest."

More updates on Jeremy Lin should arrive soon.
