Jeremy Lin has missed 45 games since he started the season with Brooklyn Nets, following his hamstring and ankle injuries. However, the player remains optimistic in his path ahead.

There are rumors that the team is looking for a new point guard in order to avoid the same situation as what happened to Lin this season. Until last month, Lin missed countless games that gave the Brooklyn Nets' worst season yet at 20–62. With this, there are talks that the team may add a veteran playmaker so that they have more options to rotate during the season. Also, there are rumors that Lin may be moved to an off-ball guard position.

Nonetheless, Lin said that he has constant communication with the general manager of Brooklyn Nets, Sean Marks, as well as his coach, Kenny Atkinson.

Lin said, "I just met with them, and the only thing I can say regarding all of that is we are in great communication, me, Sean, Kenny." He added, "I completely trust what they're doing and everything they laid out. There's no issues at all with my communication with them."

Also, even though Lin signed with the team in order to play a regular starting point guard, he said that he is okay even if he plays shooting guard at times. Lin also revealed that he is clear with the leadership role that he is expected to play on the court.

Meanwhile, there are talks that the Brooklyn Nets may have a hard time attracting free agents this summer, but Lin strongly disagrees.

In his exit meeting with the New York media, Lin said that one of the reasons why he believes otherwise is because the team is in New York. Aside from this, he also points out the culture of their team, where it embodies a different vibe.

Lin said, "There's already been a lot of interest...people are asking questions whether it's to me or Brook or other players – I don't think it's going to be as difficult. We're by nature already involved, immersed and we'll continue to be involved going forward.

He added, "I'm sure when July comes around – I'll know what the plans are and I'm sure I'll be pitching and doing my best."
