Jessa Duggar celebrated her 22nd birthday three days after becoming a married woman.

Duggar and Ben Seewald, 19, married on November 1 in front of over 1,000 guests, but the couple celebrated Jessa's birthday privately.

Details of the wedding were provided to news outlets this weekend, and include some interesting omissions from the ceremony.

While the "19 Kids & Counting" children believe in saving their first kiss until after they are married, Jessa and Ben decided to delay their first kiss a bit further. Instead of locking lips when Pastor Mike Schadt said "You may now kiss the bride," they waited until after the ceremony to share the special moment away from the eyes of their guests.

"They wanted their very first kiss ever to be in private," Pastor Schadt told PEOPLE. "It was important to the both of them."

Schadt explained the couple's decision to the wedding guests, and asked Jessa's parents, Michelle and Jim Bob, to kiss instead.

"So, now you've seen a Duggar kiss," Schadt quipped.

Jessa also broke tradition by not wearing a white dress. Her flowing Tesori Bridal gown was in a blush shade, and included a fully-beaded Swarovski crystal and pearl bodice.

"It was the second dress I tried on," Jessa said. "I love it."

Tesori Bridal co-owner Erin Bridges said that Duggar's sisters were immediate fans of the dress as well.

"She kept coming back to this dress and all her sisters were like, 'the second one, the second one,' so everyone agreed," she recounted.

Jessa and Ben also skipped the traditional wedding cake, opting for a more casual dessert.

"I don't really like cake," Jessa explained. "We wanted ice cream sundaes instead."

Guests could top their sundaes with chocolate or caramel syrup, candy, or even cookies. Jessa chose chocolate ice cream for her sundae, while Ben used mint-flavored ice cream.

Fans of the Duggar family can look forward to watching the wedding festivities on this season's "19 Kids & Counting." Ben's scavenger hunt marriage proposal will air tonight at 9pm ET on TLC.
