Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have just celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary, and the way the two are acting, it's very clear that they are as deeply in love as the day they got married.
In the Duggar Family Blog, Jim Bob and Michelle shared the letters they wrote to each other, and gave thanks to God for the blessing of a happy and lasting marriage.
"I love you more than words can express! I'm so grateful for how you lead, protect and cherish me," Michelle wrote to Jim Bob. "You are my best friend and encourager, my most faithful prayer partner and my life-long companion & love. You won my heart years ago as I saw your deep love for God and your transparency with me."
When one of their daughters recently asked Michelle what qualities they should look for in a future spouse, Michelle said those are the qualities their father possessed.
"It is that you LOVE & HONOR God and in humility you are open & transparent with me, simply put, HUMILITY and the FEAR OF THE LORD," she said. "I'm so grateful that you share your heart with me. Your hopes, your dreams your successes, your weaknesses and even your failures. We are a team. I so enjoy the oneness of spirit that we experience as we walk through this life together with Jesus," Michelle wrote in her letter to Jim Bob.
For his part, Jim Bob considers his marriage to Michelle as the greatest blessing of his life, and he could not have hoped for a better life partner. "She is the virtuous woman that Proverbs 31 talks about. She is the ultimate wife and mother and I love her more and more each day," he wrote.
Jim Bob praised his wife for being a strong leader, yet maintaining a tender heart and a sweet, loving spirit. "She is my best friend, we share everything. Michelle is selfless, always thinking of others first. She is an example to millions of women. Her children rise up and call her blessed. Michelle is my business partner, ministry team companion and the mother of our 19 children," he added.
The enamoured husband gave Michelle a surprise gift. He presented a small white box to his wife. Inside was a huge ring encrusted with all of the birthstones of their 19 kids.
