Jinger Duggar says 'Counting On' girls who are in relationships have fewer chores at home

The Duggar daughters from "Counting On" who are in courtship relationships appear to be enjoying more leniency from their parents. Jinger Duggar, who is now engaged to soccer player Jeremy Vuolo, revealed the reason in a teaser that was released before the show's Sept. 13 episode was aired: It's because Duggar girls who are in love are quite easily distracted.

Jinger saw the same thing happen to her elder sisters Jill and Jessa right before they married their husbands Derick Dillard and Ben Seewald, respectively. Because they spent most of their time daydreaming about their significant others, they were given less chores.

"I think that it's kind of a known fact that when somebody's in a relationship, it's hard for them to stay focused," Jinger says. "My mom has said, 'If anybody is in a relationship, just give them one job to do in a day, and call it good.'"

But Jinger says the one task she's been left to handle is still a pretty difficult one, since she's in charge of the family's laundry. "But other than that, my main focus, I guess, is just, like, the relationship," Jinger says.

Jinger and Jeremy first announced their courtship this June on the Duggar family blog. "As opposed to a more casual dating relationship, we really want to honour the Lord, and be very intentional about how we move forward," Jeremy explains in their video announcement.

"I met Jeremy last May and then we had the opportunity to go on a mission trip together," Jinger shares. "It was there that I really saw his heart and admired his character."

Their relationship took a really big step after Jeremy approached Jinger's dad Jim Bob Duggar and asked his permission to get to know his daughter better. "We are very excited to begin this journey together, and for you to join us along the way," Jeremy adds.
