Christian country singer Joey Feek left this world a happy woman without any regrets. One of the most memorable things she witnessed before she passed away was her father Jack Martin accepting Jesus Christ.

During her public funeral memorial held in her hometown of Alexandria, Indiana, her parents Jack and June Martin thanked the "hundreds of thousands of people" and the local people of Alexandria for their outpouring of love and grace, according to The Gospel Herald.

"Your mercy personified the kind of people you truly are," June told the crowd. "Whether you knew me personally, or whether you knew Joey, she became part of you, and you became part of her. She loved you because you believed it her, and you never gave up on her."

June even sang a beautiful rendition of the song "Just a Closer Walk with Thee," but she admitted that she could never do justice to a song "like Joey could."

Joey's father then spoke about how he "got saved" by Jesus a few months ago, thanks to Joey's help. "I had no idea that was the most important thing I could've done for Joey," he said. "I'm so blessed to be the one she [Joey] called dad."

Joey's older sister Jodi said the singer's life was defined by her love for God. "Sometimes, we'd talk 'til 3 a.m. about our families, personal struggles, fears, weaknesses. We also talked about our greatest satisfactions, and the mark we want to leave in this world," she said.

"The thing we talked most about was her love for Jesus Christ, and how important it was for her girls to know Him, trust Him and follow Him," Jodi said. "I will forever be thankful for the past five months. Joey taught me so much, about myself, love, living and sacrifice."
