When one talks about dinosaur films, Steven Spielberg's "Jurassic Park" is arguably the first to come to mind. The reprisal of the franchise in 2015 with "Jurassic World" certainly has reawakened the curiosity of how life would be if humans and dinosaurs coexisted. This has brought about discussions for a "Jurassic World" sequel.

When asked by Cinema Blend if the new film will be combining the two takes on the Jurassic franchise, director J.A. Bayona said it will be the continuation of both.

"I think somehow it's both. It's a very good question, and what we're doing is a sequel to 'Jurassic World,' but it's definitely the fifth chapter of a longer saga," Bayona explained. He also added: "It's very interesting. It's always tricky, but you need to find a balance in what people expect to find, and the new stuff you're bringing to the story. And I think the story is looking for a connection between 'Jurassic World' and 'Jurassic Park' -- more than what 'Jurassic World' did."

Since he explained it is the combination of both, it will be an interesting concept if the characters from both 'Jurassic Park' and 'Jurassic World' would come together in one action-packed movie. That, of course, is something fans are very hopeful for.

As per Movie Pilot, if there is one character who is sure to return, that is going to be B.D. Wong's Dr. Wu. Dr. Wu has been a part of the dino-saga since the very first film in 1993. It can be recalled somewhere in 'Jurassic World' that he had escaped with a helicopter full of dinosaur embryos. Whether they are genetically modified or are simply extracted from fossils, that will be a spectacle to see.

According to Coming Soon, the filming for the sequel will start in March next year. This will be in preparation for its expected launch date on June 22, 2018.
