Over the weekend, the pop star posted a photo on Instagram of him petting a dog and standing next to a towering cross. He didn't put any caption for the image but it spoke volumes about his deepening faith in God.

In the past week, Bieber also posted a photo of himself as he ran towards a building. He captioned the image, "Running from the devil like."

Bieber has been openly sharing his faith in God with his fans. On Easter Sunday, the 24-year-old singer reminded his social media followers that the holiday was a commemoration of Jesus Christ's sacrifice and not about the Easter bunny.

The "Purpose" singer has also been using Instagram to worship God. In April, he led millions of followers in singing Cory Asbury's popular Christian song "Reckless Love." There is even growing speculation that the superstar plans to do a full Christian album for his next project.

Bieber grew up knowing about God because of his mom, Pattie Mallette, a devoted Christian. She revealed in an interview in 2013 that she went through a troubled time in her young life but things started turning around when she accepted God. When she fell pregnant with Bieber, she dedicated him to the Lord as a baby.

Bieber would also go through challenges as a young superstar struggling to find his purpose and place in the global spotlight. After courting controversy with a string of negative headlines, Bieber sought guidance from Hillsong's Pastor Carl Lentz, who later baptized the musician.

"He has had a relationship with Jesus, and his mom did a great job doing her best to plant the right seeds," Lentz told Oprah Winfrey about the need to baptize Bieber. "But you can get to a point as a man where it goes from being your mama's relationship...to yours."
