Korn bassist Fieldy shares his 'mindblowing encounter' with Jesus Christ

Jesus is moving in the metal band Korn and it is all thanks to the conversion that was first experienced by guitarist Brian "Head" Welch.

This time, it is bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu who had a special experience with Jesus Christ, and it is because of that encounter that the musician finds himself "easier to get along with."

"It's a very mindblowing encounter when it happens; it's undeniable," Fieldy said during an interview with Spirit 105.3, according to BlabberMouth.net. "It's completely so real that it almost will knock you on your back for a year before you realise, 'Wow! This is really going on.' So, yeah, ten years later, every single day that goes by, it's just undeniable."

Fieldy heard some of his friends jokingly say before that it's no big deal to become a Christian, all you have to do is "change everything." But all jokes aside, Fieldy said people are afraid to commit to Christ because they are not ready for that change; to give up their old ways. In truth, Fieldy said there's no right time to be ready.

"Well, you're never gonna be ready for that. Jesus says, 'Come as you are.' He wants to clean you up. That's why people get religion mixed up. 'Ah, I see you've become religious.' I'm, like, 'That's where you have it twisted. I'm not religious.' I had an encounter with Jesus, and I want a personal relationship. And that's the only difference, I find over the years, that people keep confusing," he explains.

Fieldy says being a Christian helped him love people better, so his bandmates see it as a positive transformation. Despite his faith, Fieldy avoids being too self-righteous and loves his neighbour just as God loves him - faults and all. "You've gotta love people right where they're at, and I try to do my best doing that," he says.
