Seattle-based rock worship band Kutless frontman Jon Micah Sumrall is finally releasing his first solo effort on February 24.

Titled "Faith & Family," Sumrall's album will be released through label BEC Records, which also releases Kutless' material.

According to the Kutless vocalist, Faith & Family is the outlet for expressing himself beyond what the general public knows about him through his main band.  "This project has been a long time coming for me as writing is a form of expression where I can explain my feelings and what I'm thinking," he said.

He also revealed that the songs in the album were written many years ago, but could not fit with the image that Kutless maintains with its projects.

"Over the years as we've written for Kutless albums, most of these personal songs just didn't fit what we were looking for so these particular songs began piling up," he revealed. One of the songs in Faith & Family, he said in the press release, is a song that he wrote especially for his wife on their wedding day roughly 13 years ago.

He also said that he took a "no rules" approach in writing and producing the songs in the album, and revealed that fans can expect plenty of acoustic elements sprinkled throughout the album.

Sumrall shared his excitement at sharing another side of himself with Kutless fans through the "Faith & Family" album.

"I'm excited to share these songs with everyone as they are a window into my heart and a reflection of who I am," he shared.

Faith & Family is now available for digital download at iTunes. Fans can pre-order copies of the CD, and get a free digital download of the song "How You Love Me."

Formed in 2000 by Sumrall and guitarist James Mead in 2000, Kutless went on to become a successful band with eight studio albums and 12 songs attaining No. 1 in the radio. According to their Facebook page, Sumrall and the band are currently in the studio working on their ninth album.
