The LG G5, the first modular smartphone from South Korean tech giant LG, will be arriving in Canada a month from now, on April 8. This was officially announced by LG Canada.

The great news was posted by LG's Canada office via its Twitter account, saying, "Get ready to play more with the new #LGG5. Available in Canada on April 8."

The newly released phone will soon be available from the three major carriers in Canada, namely Bell, Rogers and Telus. Regional carriers will also be offering the G5. Major retailers such as BestBuy and Costco will likewise be selling the phone, as Mobile Syrup reported.

Rogers has already posted that subscribers availing of a two-year contract with the new LG G5 will get to have the LG CAM Plus. This accessory adds an extra grip area at the bottom-back portion of the phone for a more stable picture taking. This add-on also incorporates dedicated camera controls that include a shutter button and a jog dial for zooming in and out. It also contains its own 1,200 mAh battery.

Major carriers in the U.S. have also confirmed that they will be offering the LG G5. However, no details have been released yet, as Phone Arena stated.

The LG G5 was recently unveiled, during the Mobile World Congress 2016, and it stunned the mobile community with its modular capability. It offers a 5.3-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution, giving a 554 ppi pixel density. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 820 with Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 200GB via a dedicated microSD slot.

Its main shooter is a 16MP laser auto-focus OSI camera that can do video recording at 2160p@30fps and 1080p@60fps. This is complemented by an 8MP front-facing camera that can do video recording at 1080p@30fps.

A dual-band a/c Wi-Fi is set for Internet connectivity. It is powered by a removable Li-Ion 2,800 mAh battery. The LG G5 has four colors to choose from, namely silver, titan, gold, and pink.
