'Like death in family': Duggars bracing for more scandals as Josh mistresses come out

When the Duggar family from the cancelled TLC show "19 Kids and Counting" first dealt with the child molestation reports on Josh Duggar, they put on a strong and united front as they firmly backed Josh while he was fiercely criticized in the media.

But after they learned recently that he cheated on his wife Anna with the discovery of his two paid accounts in the hacked extramarital dating website Ashley Madison website as proof, the family's hearts were broken, and they are no longer defending him.

A close family friend told ET Online that Josh's marital infidelity was something the Christian family cannot accept. Now that his mistresses have begun speaking out against Josh, the Duggar clan are preparing themselves for more bad news and more mistresses' confessions.

"Everything with Josh was like a death in the family," the source said. "It's all so sad, and at this point, who knows what else will come to light."

The one thing that the family hopes will ease their current woes is Amy's wedding to Dillon King. "They're hoping Amy's wedding can be an escape – a much-needed day of happiness," the source said.

Josh, on the other hand, missed Amy's big day since he is currently confined in the Reformers Unanimous facility in Rockford, Illinois.

The family's hearts have gone to Josh's wife Anna, who gave birth to their fourth child Meredith Grace just this August, as well as their three other kids — Mackynzie, Michael, and Marcus.

Despite the family tragedy, they remain determined to focus on God's blessings.

"What Anna is going through is unimaginable. The goal is that everyone enjoys the day," the source said. "Amy really wants this day to be about love and the future. No one is quite sure how Anna will be or how long she'll stay, but this day is about support and positivity."

As for Josh's parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, they are slowly trying to move on from their son's terrible actions.

"Jim Bob and Michelle are the people they appear to be on TV – they are good people and will be there to support Amy," another source close to the family shared. "But they are staying quiet with even closest family right now. Everyone has just told Jim Bob and Michelle they are praying for them. Jim Bob and Michelle will get through this, but they clearly need time."
