'Longmire' season 4 update: cast begins filming, Cassidy Freeman enjoys being back on set

"Longmire" has certainly come a long way. The crime drama had to go through tough times just for a season 4 order. In November last year, Netflix picked up the series, and the production team has since been making sure that it would be worth it for the network and for the undying support of fans.

Earlier in the month, the cast and crew of "Longmire" confirmed that they have already begun shooting on location in New Mexico. The cast members have been posting photos on their social media accounts updating the fans as to what is going on in the set. Cassidy Freeman, who plays Cady Longmire, is one of the cast members who revealed that they are done with episodes 1 and 2.

In a tweet on April 11, she said, "Ep3 of S4 of #Longmire starts filming on Mon...time is flying...stop and smell the flowers...until @netflix drops this season..then watch!"

She also had a brief chat with CarterMatt, who asked her about season 4 and what it's like working in its new home, Netflix.

She concurred, "We're currently shooting episode 3, and although that seems like it's still early, I know it goes by so quickly. Time flies when you're having fun! And although the bones of this show will always be the same: great stories, strong authentic characters, culture, conflict, etc...."

With regard to Netflix, she said that it "feels bigger now." She also explained another perk of being in the new network.

"Although the fans may not love that they have to wait a little bit longer for the season, it gives us more freedom and lets us craft the season as a 10 hour movie. Netflix is such a cool platform because of this. They are also real excited about the show and eager for us to let us spread our wings. I think the fans will feel fuller episodes ... more organic feeling stories and no commercials!" Freeman shared.

Seeing how quick the first two episodes of the new season were ironed out, it looks like the cast and crew are working so hard to get the episodes done on time. Moreover, everyone is doing a great job in keeping any information about the new season, as always.
