Veteran free agent forward Glen Davis of the Los Angeles Clippers will not be doing basketball-related activities for two to three months after undergoing ankle surgery last Wednesday for an injury suffered during last season's playoffs.

According to reports, Davis sustained the injury in Game 6 of their first-round series against the San Antonio Spurs in the 2014–15 season.

Despite being injured, the 29-year-old forward went on to play eight more playoff games, according to Yahoo Sports.

Yahoo Sports added that Dr. Bob Anderson of Charlotte, North Carolina did the surgery on Davis' ankle which repaired a torn ligament and removed a cyst and bone spurs.

Davis is still a free agent but ESPN reported that he already had conversations with the Clippers about returning.

The one-time NBA champion rejoined Los Angeles last season and played in 74 regular season games, averaging a career-low 4.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 12.2 minutes of action per outing.

In the playoffs, he played a total of 14 games and averaged only 2.9 points with 1.9 rebounds per game.

Before playing for the Clippers, Davis had stints with the Boston Celtics and the Orlando Magic.

Davis was a huge part of the Celtics' championship campaigns during the big three era of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen, which resulted to one Larry O'Brien trophy in 2008.

If Davis re-signs with the Clippers, he will join a roster stacked with big men like All-Star Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan with offseason signings Josh Smith, Cole Aldrich and Chuck Hayes.

He will also be reunited with former Celtics teammate and veteran small forward Pierce who signed with the Clippers this offseason after spending the 2014–15 season with the Washington Wizards.

The Clippers are hoping to have a deeper playoff push next season after a fallout in their Western Conference semifinals against the Houston Rockets last season.

Lob City was a win away from reaching the conference finals holding a 3–1 lead against Houston, but lost the next three games to bow out of the season.
