Two struggling Western Conference teams will collide this Saturday as the Houston Rockets host the Los Angeles Lakers at the Toyota Center.

The Rockets are currently seventh in the West and started the season having a hard time finding consistency.

But recently, Houston has been winning and is successful in four of its past five games, which includes a 109–103 victory over the Washington Wizards last Wednesday.

Leading Houston in the victory was All-Star guard James Harden who exploded for 42 points, that came along with nine rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and two blocks.

Following Harden is veteran guard Corey Brewer who had 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

Point guard Patrick Beverley also had a great game for Houston, tallying 14 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

The recent string of success are helping the Rockets climb up the standings as they are now at 11–12, aiming to go .500 when they take on Los Angeles Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Lakers are hoping to end a five-game losing slide when they head to the Toyota Center this Saturday.

The recent setback experienced by the Lakers heading to the matchup with the Rockets was a 109–87 defeat to the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center last Friday.

Second overall pick for 2015 D'Angelo Russell is continually showing improvement in his game and led the purple and gold with 24 points, six rebounds, six assists, and two steals in 36 minutes of action versus San Antonio.

Reigning Sixth Man of the Year guard Lou Williams helped the rookie with 19 points, three rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one block.

Franchise superstar Kobe Bryant again had a bad shooting night going five-of-12 from the field, including one-of-five from three-point territory, to finish the night with 12 points.

The defeat gave Los Angeles a 3–20 record as it continues to sit at the bottom of the Western Conference standings.

The game between the Rockets and Lakers will be today, Dec. 12, at 8:00 p.m. EST. To watch via live stream, click here.
