It seems that fans of the hit series "Luke Cage" have more reasons to get hyped up for the show's upcoming season. The second season of the series will reportedly be focusing on the formation of "The Defenders," which is similar to the Avengers.

Now, fans are in for a spin with "The Defenders," which is composed of Luke Cage (Mike Colter) himself as well as some familiar faces. The other members of the band of misfits include Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Iron Fist (Danny Rand), and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter).

According to Game N Guide, a lot of fans are reportedly frustrated by the fact that the highly-anticipated series has been pushed back to a 2017 air date. However, the reason behind the postponement is simple yet understandable: Marvel-Netflix is only capable of airing a maximum of two shows every year, and this was confirmed by a recent interview with Ted Sarandos, Netflix's chief content officer.

Furthermore, the same article says that Colter — the actor who plays the titular character in the show "Luke Cage" — stated that he thinks that there is a big plan for all the Marvel Netflix series, with each individual character doing their own show and will finally converge and culminate into "The Defenders."

Eager fans hopefully assume that Sarandos is possibly hinting at the inclusion of The Defenders in the new season of the "Luke Cage" series.

Meanwhile, the Parent Herald reports that it is possible that Luke Cage and Willis Stryker aka Diamondback (played by Erik LaRay Harvey) are actually related. There are some reports and possible speculations that point out that the two characters are actually half-brothers, and it is possible that the new season will explore the relationship in detail.

Aside from that, the new season of "Luke Cage" will hopefully answer a lot of questions once it premieres. After all, the first season finale ended with Willis paying a visit to Dr. Burstein (Michael Kostroff), and excited viewers are eager to know what happened next.
