Apple seems to be phasing out its MacBook Air line in preparation for the release of a new MacBook as well as to pave the way for the more expensive MacBook Pro. The rumors have been going on for the past months, but while a lot of fans are already losing hope, recent rumors are saying that the super-slim Apple laptop will soon get its long-overdue revamp.
According to the Christian Times, the tech giant is hesitant when it comes to the MacBook Air 2016 because while other Apple laptops contain more features such as retina technology, the MacBook Air has barely changed ever since it was first introduced way back in 2008.
As such, replacing the line with a much more powerful set of MacBooks could be a lot simpler, but some rumors are saying that the MacBook Air will return with a vengeance, even coming out much better than its predecessor.
The most drastic change about the upcoming MacBook Air 2016 is its screen size. It is expected that the 11-inch variant will be scrapped to pave the way for a larger 15-inch screen variant instead.
Aside from the bigger screen, it seems that the MacBook Air 2016 will become much lighter and slimmer due to its internal upgrades such as improved batteries and cooling systems.
The MacBook Air 2016 will also come with a USB Type-C port that has an integrated Thunderbolt 3 Intel processor. Furthermore, the device is said to have massive improvements in terms of RAM and graphics, as well as new features such as a trackpad which can use a more advanced Apple Pencil.
Regardless, according to the University Herald, it is possible that despite cancellation rumors, the MacBook Air 2016 can still be unveiled next month.
However, without any official announcements, this remains a rumor for the time being.
