"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" officially arrives on Sept. 19, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms, Capcom has announced.

According to reports, the release date was confirmed along with the launch of eight additional characters. A story trailer was also unveiled, giving fans more idea about the game's main villain. The Capcom roster of heroes includes Chun-Li, Strider Hiryu, and Chris Redfield, while Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, and Rocket Raccoon join the fight from the Marvel side.

All heroes from both sides are set to unite for one common goal: take down Marvel supervillain Ultron. The game also marks the first time Ultron will be a playable character. Aside from the said characters, fans can look forward to two new stages: Throne Room and Avengers Tower.

"For the first time in franchise history, the Marvel and Capcom universes collide in a visually stunning and immersive cinematic Story Mode, as heroes and villains battle together to save their merged worlds from a sinister new threat, Ultron Sigma," said Capcom in a press release.

Described as a "psychotic villain," Ultron Sigma is determined to infect all creatures with a cybernetic virus. The warriors must get to him and stop his evil plan to completely destroy their newly formed world.

In addition, players will get six Infinity Stone replicas inside a case and a SteelBook packaging that contains the Deluxe Edition.
