A frontrunner is in danger of getting eliminated in the upcoming episode of America's most competitive reality series, "MasterChef" season 6.

Cartermatt reports that a surprise elimination could be coming this week, hinting that a top contender for the best home cook in the country will be sent home. In the show's preview, the mystery box and elimination challenge format is back and one contestant, Shelly, will struggle to remember to retrieve every key ingredient.

Shelly has survived multiple eliminations in the past, but this time, her gaffe could cost her a plane ticket back to hometown New York. Then there is Sarah, whom the website feels is lacking in "staying power." Many feel that she has not proven herself worthy of the title yet, as she has stayed in the shadows for too long. Will the home cook from Wisconsin be in danger of being eliminated or is she the dark horse of the competition? Viewers will need to tune in the next episode to find out.

Last week was intense, with the 12 remaining cooks trying to recreate one of Gordon Ramsay's signature dishes, Beef Wellington. When the time was up, the judges told them they will be paired according to whom they sat with when they tasted the entrée at the beginning of the challenge, and that they could only choose one for the experts to taste.

Stephen and Sarah's tandem decided to go with the former's dish and they received much praise from the judges. Hetal and Christopher also got good reviews, while Derrick and Katrina's output was overcooked. At the end, the teams of Derrick/Katrina and Nick/Kerry were sent to the pressure test to recreate another of Gordon's dishes, scallops.

With limited ingredients, the home cooks definitely struggled, according to Gossip and Gab. Katrina and Kerry missed some of the key ingredients needed for the difficult dish. Derrick's creation drew raves from the judges, as well as Nick's. Ultimately, it was Kerry who was sent home.

"MasterChef" season 6 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
