The Miami Heat are hoping to extend their preseason winning streak to four games and close their campaign with a victory when they play against the New Orleans Pelicans today, Friday, at the Smoothie King Center.

In their past three preseason outings, Miami stood tall over the Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, and the Washington Wizards.

Heat guard Gerald Green exploded for 28 points off the bench in their 110–105 win over the Wizards, also having nine rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block.

But Green was not the only spark from Miami's reserves as guard Tyler Johnson contributed 14 points, two rebounds, and two steals.

Another notable performance in the win was from All-Star big man Chris Bosh who had 13 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

The Heat will be opening their 2015–16 regular season on Oct. 28 against the Charlotte Hornets who thrived in their preseason campaign and have shown great chemistry despite having new players.

New Orleans, on the other hand, is trying to find success in its preseason closer versus Miami.

The Pelicans are currently riding a three-game losing slide this preseason and in their recent defeat fell to the Orlando Magic in overtime, 110–107.

Franchise star Anthony Davis again starred for New Orleans, having 33 points, 16 rebounds, two steals, and five blocks.

Veteran point guard Nate Robinson, who was recently signed by the Pelicans, tallied 18 points, one rebound, and two steals in their loss to the Magic.

Following their game against the Heat, the Pelicans will be gearing up for their season opener on Oct. 27 facing familiar foes in the defending champions Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors and Pelicans met in the first round of last season's playoffs, but Davis and his team failed to secure a win as they were swept.

The preseason game between the Heat and Pelicans will take place today, Oct. 23, at 8:00 p.m. EST. To watch via live stream, click here.
