This year's State of the Union speech by President Barack Obama will be taking place tonight, and all eyes will be on the President and First Lady Michelle Obama.
Last year, Michelle Obama's State of the Union dress was a forest green Azzedine Alaia ensemble – a full skirted dress, cropped jacket and oversized belt. It was not the first time the First Lady wore Paris-based designer Alaia's pieces, as she was spotted wearing his design in 2009 at a dinner in Germany. Many followers on Twitter had quoted popular lines from the cult movie 'Clueless', in which Alicia Silverstone, who plays Cher Horowitz, says "You don't understand, this is an Alaia."
This year, fashionistas around the world will be looking to see what the First Lady will be wearing. Will she wear another piece by Jason Wu?
Michelle Obama will be watching with a dozen people from the First Lady's box. This year's guest list includes a doctor, government worker, an illegal immigrant, teacher, researcher, student, austronaut and more.
Among the guests is Alan Gross, who has spent five years in a Cuban jail. Gross is the U.S. AID subcontractor who was released by the Cuban government last year after the Obama administration's shift in Cuban policy. His wife Judy will also be siting near the FLOTUS.
