Microsoft's Lumia 1330 may finally see the light of day on March 2 as the tech giant started sending out invitations for a press event it will hold on the opening day of the Mobile World Congress.

While consumers should not expect high-end devices to be announced at the event, the company will likely add new handsets to its artillery gunning for the mid-range market. One of these is the Lumia 1330, which is a low end tablet-smartphone hybrid.

The device is expected to pack admirable specs and features, such as a 5.7-inch screen display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution; Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 based quad-core SoC; Windows Phone 8.1 OS; 1 GB of RAM; 14-megapixel back camera with Carl Zeiss optics and 5-megapixel front-facing camera; and longer battery life.

There is a buzz that the Lumia 1330 will run with Windows 10 since the tech giant announced the software last year. Currently, the operating system is still in the works for its official rollout later this year. One of the prime features of the supposed Windows 10 mobile OS is its seamless ability to work on desktops and smartphones alike.

The Lumia 1330 will be the first phablet to be released by Microsoft since it acquired the Finnish manufacturer Nokia. It is speculated that the phablet, true to its roots as a Nokia-made handset, will come in different colors, which is one of the things the Nokia brand is known for.

Since the acquisition, Microsoft has been coming up with devices with great specs and features but at a low price. And because the Lumia 1330 sports lower grade specs, an affordable price tag is expected to be attached to it, too.

However, there is no official confirmation from Microsoft yet and details will surely be revealed on March 2 at the press event.
