Now that Jay (Ed O'Neill) is officially retired, he has all the time in the world to enjoy. Unfortunately for his family, he will choose a hobby that will make them worry for his safety. In the upcoming episode of the "Modern Family," the Pritchett patriarch will take on piloting planes.

In "Clean for a Day," Spoiler TV reports that Jay's choice will not sit well with his son-in law Cam (Eric Stonestreet). Cam is concerned that the old man has a death wish, as he sees piloting small planes as a very dangerous past time. Elsewhere, Gloria (Sofia Vergara) is thinking of more ways to connect with her husband now that he is retired. She will ask her stepson Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) to teach her golf, something that Jay enjoys doing. Will her plan work? Now that he has shifted his preference to planes, will Gloria also learn how to become a pilot?

Meanwhile, Claire (Julie Bowen) will decide that it is time for their house to get a total makeover. She will soon be taking over Jay's closet business and she wants to get the house in order. While Claire is very enthusiastic to clean, Phil (Ty Burrell) is not. Luke (Nolan Gould) will also irritate his mother, as he will make the chore difficult for her. He just does not want to part with anything. Alex (Ariel Winter) will also be of no help. She will reportedly be overcome with tears after finding Sanjay's (Suraj Partha) sweatshirt.

Last episode was a turning point for Phil. He finally accepted that his children are of age and should not be kept on a leash. Just like the three ducks that he and Claire "adopted," Phil let them spread their wings and experience the world on their own. When Alex decided to get a dorm in Caltech so she would not have to commute every day, her father was understandably worried. Alex is the first of his kids to live out and he felt overprotective.

"Modern Family" season 7 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Freeform (formerly ABC Family).
