The upcoming Kombat Pack 3 downloadable content (DLC) for "Mortal Kombat X" is expected to be released after "Injustice 2" debuts in the market. The anticipated Kombat Pack is expected to have a new set of playable characters.

"Mortal Kombat X" was released in April 2015 and its developer NetherRealm has since released two DLC Kombat packs, each with four new playable characters. Recently, "Mortal Kombat" co-creator Edward "Ed" Boon has been teasing Kombat fans about the release of a third Kombat Pack through his official Twitter account.

In one tweet, Boon showed the result of his recent poll asking gamers which among the Kombat Pack 3, "Injustice 2," and "Shaolin Monks 2" DLC they want the most. Kombat Pack 3 won as the most wanted, but no official announcement has surfaced regarding its production or its release date.

According to Movie News Guide, the developers have their hands full with "Injustice 2," which is expected to debut next year. This sparked speculations that NetherRealm will focus on the Kombat Pack 3 right after "Injustice 2" reaches the market.

Meanwhile, the "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 3 DLC is expected to come with a new set of playable characters. These characters are anticipated to be Noob Saibot, Rain, Baraka, Fujin, and Sindel.

The most buzzed about "Mortal Kombat" character is Baraka, who is a crossbreed between NetherRealm demons and Outworld denizens. Baraka also belongs to the race of nomadic mutants called Tarkatan. The significant feature of Baraka as a character is the lengthy retractable blades that protrude through his forearms.

While Kombat Pack 3 is still a work in progress, Kombat fans can enjoy the return of Jason Vorhees from the "Friday the 13th" franchise in the "Mortal Kombat X" mobile application update. Kitana will also be available when gamers enter a limited challenge mode event on the mobile version of "Mortal Kombat X."

"Mortal Kombat X" Pack 3 is anticipated to debut later in 2017.
