Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) will go missing in the upcoming episode of USA Network's cyberpunk-thriller drama series.
In "eps1.9_zer0-day.avi," TV.com reports that Elliot's newfound father is gone and no one knows where he is. What is interesting to note is that Tyrell (Martin Wallström) is also nowhere to be found. Where can the two be? Is this another one of Mr. Robot's mad schemes or is it Tyrell's? Perhaps the better question would be, are they together? As far as viewers are concerned, the two cannot be trusted.
Meanwhile, Elliot (Rami Malek) will be haunted by a past misdeed. A hack that he instigated appears to catch up with him and he does not know what to make of it. At his current state of mind, he is bound to be confused about everything that has been happening in his life. Nobody will even be surprised if this turns out to be another one of his hallucinations.
Also in episode 10, confusion and chaos will ensue with the announcement that Evil Corp is going down. According to Yibada, the promo released by USA Network centers more on the people's reaction about the shocking news. A telecast is apparently aired, telling the viewers that the market's opening bell also signifies the death of the Evil Corp.
Thoroughly confused, the citizens will take to the streets to protest. Pandemonium will reign as they lose their cool on the continued lack of explanation on the reason why the corporation is closing. Elliot will be seen at the middle of the turmoil, banging the steering wheel of his car in frustration.
Then there is Darlene (Carly Chaikin), his sister, who is asking about his whereabouts. After all the revelations, Elliot still has a hard time accepting their relationship. Is Darlene's concern for Elliot real, or is this some sort of plan to make sure he stays where he belongs?
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, show creator Sam Esmail talked about the viewers' reactions to the bomb they released about Elliot's family. He said that for the final two episodes left on the show, this relationship between the hacker, Mr. Robot, and Darlene will be the focus.
"Really, that's the story of Mr. Robot. And we really, initially kick into high gear with that in episodes 9 and 10. Episodes 9 and 10 will obviously reveal more answers about their relationship," Esmail said.
Esmail also said that another aspect the viewers should expect before the finale is the storyline on Evil Corp. He explained that the episodes would dwell on how Elliot's discovery of Mr. Robot could impact the entire hack plan. When asked what else to expect in the last two episodes of the hit series, the creator had a mysterious answer.
"A lot of things happen in these episodes that are going to give people who are following the show a lot to process and a lot to rethink and a lot to figure out," he said.
"Mr. Robot" airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on USA Network.
