The trend of bizarre events continues this week with the newest episode of the hit hacker drama "Mr. Robot" titled "eps1.3_da3m0ns.mp4."
Cartermatt reports that fsociety will start to initiate the hack that can change the world. Meanwhile, Elliot's (Rami Malek) past is still hunting him and it will threaten to derail the whole operation.
Last week, the young cyber-security engineer decided to join fsociety's mission after discovering that Evil Corp was responsible for his father's death. It was revealed that its executive, Terry Colby (Bruce Davidson), was involved with the toxic leak years ago that caused his employees to get leukemia. This eventually led to the deaths of Elliot's father and Angela's (Portia Doubleday) mother.
Meanwhile, Angela realized that she had to commit a crime against her cyber security firm, AllSafe, because of her boyfriend Ollie (Ben Rappaport). She discovered that the aspiring street rapper who gave Ollie the demo CD was actually a hacker and that he was blackmailing him. Viewers also saw Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallström), Evil Corp's SVP of Technology, losing the promotion he was counting heavily on and how creepy he actually was.
While in San Diego for Comic-Con, co-stars Malek and Christian Slater stopped by NerdHQ for a panel to discuss the show, Collider reports.
Malek talked about the struggle that Elliot would be facing throughout the season and how he would reconcile with the idea of wanting to insert himself in a society that does not know how to accept someone like him.
"I would say that's a struggle that Elliot is faced with, throughout the season. With the help of the few friends he has and the relationships that he makes throughout the season, he tries to figure out if that's even possible," the 34-year-old actor said.
As for Mr. Robot himself, Slater answered a few inquiries if the viewers would get to learn more about his character as the season progresses or if he would remain a mystery.
"Sam Esmail really has it mapped out, and he leaves a lot of breadcrumbs, along the way. You have to pay attention, and there are little clues along the way, as to who Mr. Robot is and what his real agenda is. By the time we got to filming the last episode of the season, I was thrilled with the direction that it went. I couldn't have been happier," he said.
"Mr. Robot" airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on USA.
