After it was reported last year that fans can expect another movie based on "The Chronicles of Narnia" series of books, "Narnia: The Silver Chair," it has been learned that the planned movie will be under the directorial helm of "Captain America: The First Avenger" director Joe Johnston. Now that the movie has a director, will it really arrive late next year as revealed by one its likely cast members?

According to reports, "Narnia: The Silver Chair" will feature Eustace Scrubb, the cousin of the Pevensie children (William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes, and Georgie Henley in the movies), traveling to Narnia as he attempts to save the kidnapped child of Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes in the 2008 movie). It will be produced by The Mark Gordon Company in partnership with TriStar Pictures, C.S. Lewis Company, and Entertainment One and will be distributed by Sony Pictures and Entertainment One.

"Joe is a wonderful storyteller who is equally at home in the biggest franchises and the most intimate character pieces. Because C.S. Lewis' story is iconic and epic, but also tender, personal, and emotional, he's the perfect choice to bring 'The Silver Chair' to the screen," said Gordon in an interview with Variety as he expressed his excitement over Johnston's sharing his directorial expertise in the upcoming movie.

As the director of "Narnia: The Silver Chair" has just been tapped, it goes without saying the movie is far from completion. With this, fans cannot expect it to arrive within this year. However, last month, in an event appearance in the Philippines, Moseley revealed that the next "Narnia" movie will begin filming later this year and will be released in 2018.

"'The Silver Chair'... My character, as you probably know, isn't in that book... until The Last Battle. That starts filming in autumn of this year and will come out one year later. September 2018 or Christmas 2018, the next Narnia will be released," said Moseley in a Twitter video uploaded by a "Narnia" fan.

While Moseley's reveal is nothing short of exciting, "Narnia" fans are advised to take everything with a grain of salt for now until an official announcement is made.
