"NBA 2K17" has recently just launched, and just like previous installments, it allows players to input special locker codes that unlock special items or virtual currency, also known as VC. Fans of the franchise have discovered that some of the locker codes from the older title, "NBA 2K16," also work for "NBA 2K17."
As stated in a report from The Gamers Drop, all previous "NBA 2K" games have reused some of the same locker codes over the past few years. Players can only redeem them once, but at least, it allows players to get some extra VC and items right from the start of the game.
Some of the codes that are allegedly working include PAYRESPECT, which unlocks the ABA ball, and SHOOT2MUCH500, which gives 500 VC. The code #2KTVPOSTSEASON gives 1,000 VC, while the BETTERTHANAGIFTCARD locker code gives 2,000 VC. The locker code MYSTERY will give a random item, and the #2KTVHEYGUYS code unlocks 2K TV shirt in MyPlayer mode. The code PARKSWAG also gives 500 VC, KEEPTHECHANGE gives 750 VC, while the IWATCHEDNBA2KTV code gives 1,000 VC.
The report also states that there are another means for players to get free VC and other free items. This involves successfully answering questions in the "2KTV" option found in the game's menu or through the mobile companion app, "My NBA 2K17."
Players will first be prompted to watch a video, and once it ends, there will be a question and answer segment. Each question answered correctly grants the player items or VC. The answers have been listed in order: Any answer is accepted, Mismatch, Toronto All-Star Weekend, #32, any answer is accepted, any answer is accepted, 18.3 ppg, 2012 with NBA 2K13, and the last question will accept any answer.
A previous report has stated that the only means of gaining more locker codes at the moment is by availing the promo with Walmart's Ruffles chips. Players who purchased these chips can send an image of the receipt via email and receive the locker codes as a reward. 2K Sports have yet to announce a new set of locker codes apart from the abovementioned ones.
