All Nike City Edition NBA jerseys are now revealed, and people are picking their favorite. Two jerseys stood out among other teams.
Most NBA city jerseys were revealed on Dec. 27 via Twitter. Nike then shared a news release on its website revealing all City Edition jerseys and the inspiration behind them. Two jerseys came on top among fans and sports experts. CBS Sports released an article grading all jerseys according to their design. The uniform of the Cleveland Cavaliers and San Antonio Spurs both got an A+ grade.
According to Nike, the Cavaliers City uniform is inspired from their all-for-one-and-one-for-all motto and from the "Guardians of Transportation." The Cavaliers made use of the colors white, wine, and black to signify association (white), icon (wine), and statement (black).
The Spurs City uniform took a camouflage approach to honor the men and women from the United States Armed Forces. San Antonio promoted their nickname Military City USA with the uniform design.
The City uniform of the Los Angeles Lakers also received good feedback from fans. The Lakers association also took the opportunity to honor one of their greatest players who recently watched his uniforms go up the rafters, Kobe Bryant. The City Jersey of the purple and gold was inspired by the Black Mamba mentality and design. Lakers also added 16 stars in the side panels of the jersey to represent their 16 NBA Championship titles. Bryant is the first NBA player to inspire a City Edition jersey design in the NBA.
The Golden State Warriors honored the Chinese culture across the Bay Area with their City Edition uniform. A Chinese symbolism joins the Golden State Bridge logo in the middle of the jersey.
Basketball fans are now looking forward to the All-Star event in 2018. The All-Star weekend will commence on Feb. 16, 2018 until 18 in Los Angeles.
