NBA trade rumors 2016: Boston Celtics eyeing Al Horford and Jeff Teague

Jeff Teague has yet gotten another interested team on his tail with word that the Boston Celtics are reportedly eyeing the Atlanta Hawks guard.

The past weeks have seen multiple teams showing interest on the veteran guard and the Celtics are the latest team to inquire about his availability.

The rumor does come as a surprise, considering the Celtics already have a reliable backcourt starring Isaiah Thomas. But then again, Teague has proven what he can do so adding another talented guard to the mix could work to their advantage.

But it is not only Teague that the Celtics are reportedly inquiring about. CSNNE reports that the team is also expressing interest in Al Horford who is in the last year of his $20 million deal with the Hawks. He is expected to be one of the many interesting free agents once the 2015–16 NBA season comes to a close.

Teague seems to be imminently moving soon, with word as well that the Hawks are leaning on a change in focus favoring Dennis Schröder.

Teague has one year left in his $8 million contract and stands to be a valuable addition to any team who could strike a deal with the Hawks.

Could the combined value of Teague and Horford be something that Celtics would be ready to gamble on? The answer to that falls on the hands of Celtics general manager Danny Ainge.

The NBA trade deadline is fast approaching (Feb. 18) and the Celtics could pull the trigger on either or both players. That would, of course, depend on whether or not both teams could hit a compromise.

Aside from the Celtics, other teams linked to Teague include the Houston Rockets, New York Knicks, and the Utah Jazz.

With that said, it seems imminent that a deal would go down in the coming days for the seven-year All-Star guard.
