'NCIS: LA' season 7 episode 16: Team rescues Anna's father as G. Callen discovers his true identity

NCIS: Los Angeles - G. Callen's real name teased Twitter via NCIS: Los Angeles

As per the synopsis on TV.com, "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 7 episode 16 will continue the last episode's manhunt as the team continues to search for Anna's (Bar Paly) father now that they know he is alive, as well as the hostaged CIA agent. At the same time, G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell) will discover what the G in his name stands for.

In the previous episode, the team went undercover alongside Anna to retrieve data from the Russian Consul General's computer and they discovered that not only were the enemies holding a CIA agent but they also discovered Anna's father Arkady (Vyto Ruginis) is alive and held hostage.

This episode will now focus on the rescue mission to break him out before the enemies kill him or torture him beyond the breaking point. In order to so, a report from Ecumenical News states that the episode will see the team travel all the way over to Russia as they plan on infiltrating the high security prison where Arkady is being held.

Not everyone is going to be heading to Russia, however, as Movie News Guide reports that Beale (Barrett Foa) will get to see some action back in Los Angeles as Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) bring him in to help them with local cases.

During this mission G. Callen will discover his true identity. This was previously teased by the official Twitter account of "NCIS: Los Angeles," in which a photo of Callen was posted along with the question "Can you guess what the G stands for?"

Callen's history and the mysteries of his family have been a strong driving force in the series but this will be the first time fans will get any crucial information regarding Callen's true self, as his origin story has not been fleshed out in detail. Callen's father was said to be dead by circa 2008 but there have been hints and clues indicating otherwise.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 7 episode 16 will air this Feb. 22.
