New National Director Promotes Expression of Faith for Evangelism

Christians do not have confidence in what they believe, the new National Director of Evangelism Explosion has said this week. He also added that commonly they also do not know how to explain their faith in simple terms to lead and guide others.

|TOP|Rev Ian Field will take over as the National Director of Evangelism Explosion (EE) this month. Explaining more about EE, he said, “EE works on the principle that you don't really know a thing until you can explain it effectively. It shows people how to share the good news in a way that makes sense in a society bombarded with competing belief systems.”

Having been the lead chaplain in a high security prison with a high percentage of Muslims, Sikhs and other religions as the inmates, Rev Field told, “Muslim Imams, Buddhists, Pagans and Christians of different persuasions - all of them worked on my team. Being able to explain in a simple and powerful way what Christians believe made all the difference.

“You need backbone and confidence to lead a team like that. We gained real respect because everyone understood where we were coming from.”

|AD|Previously, Rev Field has ministered at Harborough Evangelical Church for 13 years, where consistent growth was achieved; numerically and spiritually.

He will now take over the role as the National Director of Evangelism Explosion following the retirement of Peter Crook.

Rev field has stated his belief that personal evangelism through the local church is God’s plan. He said, “Many believers would love to lead friends and family to Christ, but don’t know how – this is where EE works. The Christian life can be a thrilling adventure and churches really do grow through adopting EE principles.”

With an adult training course in September already fully booked, the new National Director of EE has explained that he is turning his attentions to the new launch of 'Kids EE', for children aged 8-13.
