New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul has been through a lot in the offseason and even this 2015 season but despite all that, he still aims to end his National Football League (NFL) career with the team.

Two of the biggest issues Pierre-Paul faced was the fireworks accident he had last July which caused him his right index finger and his contract dispute with the Giants when he was returning after the gruesome injury.

But once all of those were set aside, Pierre-Paul returned to playing and so far this season has appeared in three games already, although he has yet to record a sack.

Still, the 26-year-old athlete is a defensive spark for the Giants who are aiming to improve their playoff chances with only five games remaining in their regular season schedule.

Those five games are also a chance for Pierre-Paul to impress the organization as he is set to be a free agent following the 2015 season.

Despite the contract situation he is in, the 2010 first round pick (15th overall) wants to stay with the Giants.

"Of course, I always want to be here. This is the team that drafted me, and I would like to finish my career here. But we'll see what's at stake," Pierre-Paul shared with reporters after their practice last Wednesday.

Pierre-Paul's case for a new contract after this season may have just gotten a big boost because in their practice  last Wednesday, he was able to plant his right hand to the ground while lining up in a three-point stance, a first for him since the accident.

Before that, he was only using his left hand which gave him a difficult time since he is a right defensive end.

The latest progress in his right hand makes him excited to play in their upcoming matchup with the New York Jets this Sunday for Week 13 action.
