The New York Knicks have gone through a lot of issues with star forward Carmelo Anthony especially in this year's offseason; but newly acquired guard Arron Afflalo said the franchise player is showing great commitment to the team.

Anthony's commitment to the franchise has been in question for a long time now and was again a hot topic this offseason after the selection of No. 4 overall pick Kristaps Porzingis in the 2015 NBA Draft.

Following the selection, Anthony reportedly was unhappy with Knicks president Phil Jackson's decision of drafting Porzingis.

Reports say he expressed his dismay regarding the drafting of Porzingis to former teammate and budding guard Tim Hardaway Jr. who was later traded to the Atlanta Hawks on draft night.

Anthony later said through social media that Porzingis is a steal for them in the draft and welcomed him to the Knicks.

In a report by ESPN, Knicks president Phil Jackson said last month that he is yet to speak with Anthony this offseason. Many believe such is a sign of disappointment from the 31-year-old forward with their new acquisitions.

But Afflalo, who was signed this free agency, said that Anthony is very committed to the Knicks and to winning.

"He's very committed. He seems very, very, very hungry to succeed," the 29-year-old guard said in a summer camp, according to ESPN.

Afflalo added that Anthony is happy he is with the Knicks and is a big reason as to why he ended up with the team.

Anthony and Afflalo were former teammates and played two seasons together with the Denver Nuggets.

"I'm extremely excited to play with him. I know he's excited that I'm here and we're going to make it work," Afflalo expressed.

Along with Afflalo, the notable additions for the Knicks this offseason are forward Derrick Williams and big men Brook Lopez, Kyle O'Quinn and Kevin Seraphin.
