The New York Knicks will be the welcoming committee for the returning Charlotte Hornets as the two unbeaten squads this preseason collide at the Time Warner Cable Arena today, Saturday.
New York is thriving this preseason, winning all four of its games which include a victory over the Boston Celtics last Friday.
The Knicks handed the Celtics their first defeat of the preseason after the latter won their first three games.
Leading the way for the Knicks in their victory over Boston was offseason signing Derrick Williams, who was also their scoring leader in their previous win over the Philadelphia 76ers last Monday.
Against the Celtics, Williams had 19 points to go along with five rebounds, one steal, and one block off the bench.
Another offseason addition, forward Kyle O'Quinn, also had a great performance having a double-double 13 points with 11 rebounds, one assist, two steals, and two blocks.
The Knicks were also helped on offense by veteran guard Sasha Vujačić and forward Cleanthony Early who tallied 10 points each in the win.
New York All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony, who has been playing well this preseason bouncing back from injury, only had eight points versus Boston.
Meanwhile, the Hornets will return home after a successful two-game series against the Los Angeles Clippers held in China which was part of the National Basketball Association (NBA) Global Games this year.
The Hornets dominated the Clippers in both games winning in the first matchup 106–94 and the second meeting 113–71.
In their second game against Lob City, six Hornets players scored in double-digits. They were led by center Al Jefferson who tallied 17 points, six rebounds, one assist, one steal, and two blocks.
Jefferson was followed by former Portland Trail Blazer Nicolas Batum who had a double-double 14 points along with 10 rebounds, plus five assists, and two steals.
