Nexus 10 2 vs Nexus 10 specs comparison; $50 Price cut for 32GB model as release date set

The Nexus 10 2nd generation tablet is expected to be released soon, along with the launch of Google's latest mobile operating system, Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.

No official release date has been announced by Google regarding their latest tablet, despite rumors persisting that the launch will be "near".

Wall Street Journal's Emir Efrait recently tweeted some hints about the device's release date. "Expect to see new 10-inch Nexus 10 Android tablet (made by @Samsung) in the near future, Google's @sundarpichai tells me."

The price of the current Nexus 10 32GB model has been slashed by $50 and is now available for just $449 on eBay. The price cut comes as rumors swirl that the release date for the device is near. Retailers will be looking to clear its stock of the Nexus 10 model in preparation for the 2nd generation tablet.

The Nexus 10 2 may launch even as early as next month, during the IFA 2013 tech showcase in Berlin, which will be held Sept. 6-11. The tech event is also expected to be the stage where Samsung will debut the Samsung Galaxy note 3 phablet.

The original Nexus 10 launched in November last year and was made by Samsung. Google may also choose to launch the product in November, a year after the Nexus 10 launch. However, rumors are swirling that the Nexus 10 2 tablet may be manufactured by Asus instead of Samsung. Sources told geek.com that Google has chosen Asus to build the refresh of their Nexus 10 tablet. Asus also manufactures the smaller Nexus 7 tablets.

The latest Nexus 10 is expected to feature Snapdragon 800 processor, a hi-resolution display with 2560x1600 resolution, and 2 GB RAM. The size and weight of the tablet is expected to be reduced with an 8.9mm frame and it may also come with a possible MicroSD slot, which is absent in all Nexus models. The tablet will likely be launched with Android 5.0 Key Lime PIe. It will also support LTE.

The current Nexus 10 features a 10 inch display with 2560 x 1600 resolution in Corning Gorilla Glass 2. It is available with 16GB or 32GB internal storage, 2 GB ram, and features Dual-core A15 processor. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

It might just be me, but amongst all the myriad and somewhat valid objections raised, including by Christians, to "Assisted Dying" (read "Doctors Killing Patients" or "Doctors Helping Patients to Kill Themselves"), I haven't really seen the most important, indeed the all-decisive, one.
