Unrestricted free agent wide receiver Reggie Wayne received a key to the city of Indianapolis last Friday because of his contributions; and during the luncheon spoke about playing for one more season and also shared that a number of teams are interested in him.

Wayne played his entire National Football League (NFL) career with the Colts but after a struggling performance last season, he was informed earlier this year that he will not be re-signed despite his willingness to end his career with the team.

Last season, the 36-year-old athlete played in 15 regular season games and only had 64 receptions for 779 yards with two touchdowns.

In the postseason, he played in three games and had one reception for 12 yards and no touchdowns.

Wayne said he wants to play one more season because according to him he wants to finish the way he knows how to finish.

He also shared that a number of teams are calling him, "It's something I'm excited about. I really am. I guess in due time we'll figure out where it is."

Wayne, who is coming off a surgery because of a triceps injury suffered last season, did not reveal the teams but WRTV6 sports director Dave Furst mentioned in his tweet that the New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans and Green Bay Packers are among the teams interested in the veteran with the Denver Broncos backing away.

The six-time Pro Bowler said he is trying to be as healthy as he can be adding that, "It's weird 'cause this is one of my best years as far as being in the best shape that I've been in a while. It's coming along great."

Wayne said he will not be forcing himself to continue with his career once he thinks it is time to retire but is looking for just one more year of competition.
