'NieR: Automata' release date news, updates: New game aims to redeem the original title; preview is exciting and action-packed

With the first announcement of the upcoming game "NieR: Automata," a lot of fans were excited to find out what the game has to offer. After all, the fans of the original title were surprised at the franchise's unexpected return, which is mainly thanks to Platinum Games.

Game Rant had a chance to become more hands-on with an early build for the yet to be released "NieR: Automata" game. The online publication also had the priviledge of speaking to the game's producers in order to have a more concrete idea of how the sequel aims to remedy the complaints about the highly extensive gameplay problems that plagued the original title while ensuring that the original universe and lore of the first "NieR" game is expanded.

According to Yosuke Saito — the sequel's producer — the production of "NieR: Automata" was primarily aimed at making good on the shortcomings of the first title. After all, the harsh judgment "NieR" received — which was due to the lack of good action sequences in the original game — is the same exact reason why Saito decided to have a collaboration with Platinum Games for the sequel.

As fans can remember, the developer was known for working on some good action games such as "Bayonetta" and "Metal Gear Solid: Revengeance."

The short trial period of the game revolves around the android 2B, and the "NieR: Automata" preview was full of action, making the trial experience superb and memorable. In-game combat had a more fluid feel due to the fact that hacking and slashing with 2B's sword is easy even while jumping and dashing across a battlefield filled with a sea of tin-can looking robot enemies.

Meanwhile, the University Herald reports that Saito also said that the "NieR: Automata" game will be optimized for the PlayStation 4 Pro. This means that the game will have 4k quality graphics without compromising the 60FPS frame rate of the game.
